Red Rocks, White & Blue

Celebrate the spirit of Independence Day in Moab, where red rocks, endless blue skies, and small-town camaraderie create an unforgettable holiday weekend. Here, the 4th of July feels bigger, brighter and bolder.

Cue the Fireworks

It wouldn’t be America’s 250th without a star-spangled spectacle! Launching from Lion’s Back, a legendary 350-foot-tall sandstone ridge, the fireworks can be seen throughout Downtown Moab. Don’t forget to tune in to KCYN (97.1 FM) for a synchronized display.

Corn dog in one hand, lemonade in the other! Head to the Grand County Fair, July 2–4, for pure Americana vibes: rodeo, exhibits, relay games, USA costume contest, cornhole tournaments and even an ugly 4th of July cake competition.

Planning Your Weekend

In Moab, summers start early and end late. For red rock views, plan to set out early in the morning and bring plenty of water. Then, cool off with wild rapids down the Colorado River, or an afternoon of lazy poolside lounging back at the hotel. By night, look to the sky for an endless canvas of cosmos, meteors and galaxies.
