Frank Ruggles has a very unique and unusual resume’. He served in the legendary 82nd Airborne, played in a few rock bands, worked for the State Department and Smithsonian. Ute 100 Mile Trail Run

August 9 - August 10

The highest race of any distance outside of Colorado. The annual Ute 100 Mile Trail Run sees runners from 30 plus states and multiple countries. This event is very small with only about 150 runners over a 42 hour time limit in the La Sal Mountains. This event gives back by helping maintain several sections of trails that the race uses. MIC Lecture: Anna Arsic – Exploring the Impacts of Student Participation in Canyon Country Outdoor Education

Canyon Country Outdoor Education (CCOE) is a National Park Service environmental education program in partnership with local elementary schools in Southeast Utah. The program consists of kindergarten through sixth-grade classroom visits and field trips to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks and other local public lands. This thesis presentation will reveal the impacts CCOE has had on student participants six years after they have experienced the program.
