Navigating Timed Entry at Arches National Park
Arches National Park utilizes a timed entry system during popular times to better control crowding in the park. The system is easy to navigate once you learn it, and we're here to help.
What do I need to enter Arches National Park?
1. Park Pass. You always need a park pass to enter Arches National Park. Park Passes can be purchased at the gate of the park or online.
2. If applicable, reserved entry time. During the timed entry period - 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 1 to July 6 and from August 28 to October 31 - you also need a timed entry reservation.
When do I need a timed entry reservation?
Timed entry tickets are required from April 1 - July 6 and August 28 - October 31, 2025 to enter Arches National Park between 7 AM and 4 PM daily.
Reservations will allow visitors to enter the park during a one-hour window. For example, a 7 am ticket will allow entry between 7:00 and 7:59 am.
Once you are inside the park, you can stay as long as you like.
When do I not need a timed entry reservation?
You do not need a timed entry reservation if you plan to enter the park before 7 a.m. or after 4 p.m. on any day.
You do not need a timed entry reservation if you are visiting the park between:
- January 1, 2025 and March 31, 2025
- July 7, 2025 and August 27, 2025
- November 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025.
What if I don't get a reservation?
The park is open 24 hours a day. You can always enter the park outside of the hours of 7 am and 4 pm, and you do not need a reservation to do so. Starting your hikes early is a good way to avoid the heat, and Arches National Park is a dark sky park, meaning the night sky is spectacular.
How do I make a timed entry reservation?
Timed entry reservations are available six months in advance starting at 8 am MST. You can reserve your entry time on Recreation.gov for $2.
Next-day reservations become available at 7 pm daily. That means that if you missed reserving your entry time, you still have a chance to reserve a time the night before the day you want to go. Any unreserved timeslots remain open for same-day booking.
How do I book a timed entry ticket for a client?
