An avid hiker, John Fayhee was the editor of the Mountain Gazette for 12 years and he was a longtime contributing editor at Backpacker magazine. A two-time Colorado Book Awards finalist, his work has appeared in Canoe & Kayak, High Country News and many others.
John lives in New Mexico’s Gila Country and is the author of 10 previous books, including Bottoms Up, Smoke Signals and most recently “A Long Tangent: A Year of Hiking, Musings and Rants from an Old Man and His Young Dog”.
